Future Cleantech Leader Bursary

At Peak Power, we believe in the potential to create change. It's why we're thrilled to provide one  $1,000 bursary to a deserving first-year post-secondary student enrolled at an accredited Ontario institution. 

Eligibility Criteria

We are excited to offer support to the next generation of leaders in cleantech and climate tech! If you are a student starting your first year at an accredited institution in a field related to cleantech and/or climate tech, we welcome you to APPLY TODAY.

  • High school diploma
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Enrolled as a full-time student in your first year of a post-secondary program at an accredited institution in Ontario
  • Enrolled in a STEM or cleantech/climate/environmental program

How to Apply

Here is what you will need to submit an entire application. Make sure to gather the required documentation prior to submitting your application form.

Because this is a bursary, we do not require a statement of grades. Documents are to be provided via email to jonathan@peakpowerenergy.com (if files are too large, you can send them via WeTransfer or a Google Drive link.) 

  1. Complete the application form via the link at the bottom of this page.

  2. Submit an essay in the format of your choice. The topic of the essay should be about HOW WE CAN CREATE BETTER SOLUTIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES. You can choose the following formats for your submission:
    • Written: 1,000 words
    • Spoken word: 2-5 minutes 
    • Musical: 2-5 minutes 
    • Video: 2-5 minutes


  3. One letter of recommendation (on official letterhead) from someone other than relatives or friends. For example, this could be from a teacher, principal, employer, career counsellor, or volunteer leader. The letter should include the applicant's leadership and commitment to climate, cleantech, and/or greentech, plus information about the applicant's community involvement and future goals.

  4. A copy of your High School Diploma

  5. Proof of enrolment at an accredited Ontario post-secondary institution

  6. Signed release agreement: The recipient of the bursary must agree to have their name and photograph published in any and all media channels utilized by Peak Power Inc. Submission of an application will constitute an agreement that Peak Power Inc. becomes the owner of all submission material to be used for communication purposes.

Important Dates & Selection 

These are the important milestones and dates to keep in mind. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of enrollment before receiving the funds.

  1. Application deadline: October 31, 2023 
  2. Selection committee deliberations: November 1-27, 2023
  3. Bursary recipient notified: November 30, 2023  
  4. Bursary disbursement: December 2023 

A successful candidate will be chosen by a selection committee made up of members of our Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. Their decision is final and not open to an appeal process.
